I've got a question for you. Do you have a rough figure on what percentage (or where the majority is) of the following two scenarios?
a. Child brains honestly believing their own narrative in an unconflicted way
b. Child brains suffering cognitive dissonance / overcompensating / trying to hide the failure of their false reality to align with facts.
I'm more likely to think the majority consists of "a". But you understand these folks better than me.
