"... but the rest of the time we are 100% in a Donald Trump led cult, and we'll do whatever he says... you know, except on these truly major things where we don't agree with him and instead we just stick with our own ideas and our own principles. You know kinda like a cult.. or sort of a cult."

I mean, I gotta admit. I feel a constant irresistible urge to keep falling in line with whatever Donald Trump says on a day-by-day basis.... Every once in a great while I get this thing, it's like a little itch in my head. I think it's what some people call a "thought of my own".

But I quickly ignore it and just make sure to look up what Trump said to do. I absolutely want to be a good little MAGA Qanon, that's my identity, you know. Besides, my own thoughts are just too scary to pursue on my own, it's safer to let a political figure I've never met tell me what to do.

When I grow up. I want to be Chris Paul. Or is it I want to be Chris Paul when...never mind. You get the point. Your magnificent snarkiness just makes me laugh.

Nothing but bullseyes! Nice shootin', Tex!

Can't wait for tonight's class on Congressional Sausage Making! Wouldn't miss it for the world!

I think it would help if we Americans—the ordinary people—decided together to dispense with the trappings of nobility that people in government are accorded because they are supposedly selfless servants of the people. The way it stands now, someone gets elected and immediately is given the title “The Honorable,” without having earned it yet. Our representatives need humility and integrity, and almost none of them have it. Maybe we should start calling them The Servant John Doe or The Lowly Jane Doe, or some other ignoble title, to remind them of their actual positions and their actual responsibilities.

I still trust Trump. Pretty much. But I still question, listen, and learn. Who else would have gotten 218 (or nearly) votes?

It reminded me of a Sales convention -- Where all the salespeople congratulated each other on how much $$ they suckered their constituencies out of. These Committee'ships and chairs are awarded to those who "are the best" at Smiling and Dialing to raise money.

That's it. They have turned Congress into a Call Center. A Cube Farm. A Chop Shop.

Edit: It also occurs to me how the way they have been running Congress is extremely communistic: They have been controlling the agenda. Wasn't that how Stalin learned to control everything? "He who controls the agenda...controls everything."

15 rounds of votes is what happens when you don’t have mail in ballots!

Truly appreciate the insight and analysis.

The longer the debate continues. The more we learn... so true.

Society wants to do anything to avoid conflict. I once heard a college coach (From another country) talk with a referee after a game. He said, “I hope you officiate a game of ours in the future, but today you were not your best.” The ref responded, “Hey I don’t need this. There is no need to create conflict.” The coach responded, “I’m not afraid of conflict, it’s part of my culture! But it’s a personal decision for each of us to be respectful when we disagree.” Then they continued to have a civil conversation.
