If anybody who knows me thinks I couldn’t handle public execution of the ones who have put us all through hell- they would be wrong!! I’m 70yo artist ( assumed a lib- also wrong) with generally kind sensitive nature. I enjoy your style and content always CP!

Thank you! And I think people will be very pro-execution when this is over.

So fake president wants to ban execution, why is that is it bc his afraid of trump becoming president and his going to put him to death for all the crimes that he committed? Yes I believe so that’s why he wants to ban so future presidents can’t put anyone to death, they should bring back the Electric chair I love to see Biden in the hot seat front and center that would be wild 😂 girl can only dream... coming back to your discussion of Illinois schools why teachers can’t teach kids the proper credentials is it because they keep cutting funds from teachers and hours my younger daughter works as a TA at a charter school and attends the university in Hilo at night. Next year she graduates with her bachelors in English. My other daughter has two more years left to get her doctorate as a psychologist I’m proud momma both girls attended the University right after high school, so they’ve been in school all this time, it’s a tough world out there for those teachers if they’re cutting their funds to teach. When I went to school little bit different than what we face now and that was 35 some years ago, hopefully the school system will get better kid’s need to learn more and math plays a roll in everyone’s life. Thank you Chris sorry for responding late I had surgery yesterday and I’m catching up on my Substack reads. Great discussion and another smashing episode as always 👏

We moved 13 times before I graduated high school, I went to five high schools in three states because of moves. No, my dad wasn't military, he was highly intelligent, hyper and should have probably been born during the time when he could have gone on an adventure opening up new land in the West of the United States. I learned quite well, even though every school I went to in a different state or city would have a different way of doing certain things or be in a different stage of learning the different subjects. We read a lot because we were in the car driving across country a lot. I have a belief now that it's not so much what you learn in school aside from learning to read and research. Asking questions is another important part of learning. I homeschooled and those were the two things that I focused most on, aside from math. I always taught that the worst person could do, if you asked them something, is to answer that they don't know and then you can research for yourself. When you read a lot and converse with others, you gain a sense of wonder and understanding. I believe a big part of the problem is that kids don't spend a lot of time with a variety of adults, anymore, watching and learning - apprenticing, if you please. We used to wash and dry the dishes with my mother and each other. Boys and girls alike learned to hammer nails into boards or use saws to cut branches. Kids followed their parents into the barn to milk cows or collect eggs, and we spent a lot of time exploring out in nature. They're making little robots out of kids who are now not able to think or reason or research or learn on their own, anymore. They've got them right where they want them, sitting in a school for 8 hours a day 5 days a week and then at home sitting in front of the TV with the game controller in their lap... As a homeschooling mother we only did school from about 8:00 to noon everyday, and we only worked 4 days a week. But we did a lot of grocery shopping with coupons, and we had chickens and rabbits and cats and dogs so that the kids learned responsibility. My daughter went on to college and the Dean's list, and my son entered the military rising in the ranks in Military Intelligence. The reason I homeschooled was because the teachers complained that my son was hyper and always answering questions and talking too much, and my daughter spent too much time perfecting her answers because of ADD. I know not every parent can homeschool, but I think they could change School in a way that could mimic homeschool learning and give the kids back a sense of wonder. I also think that way too much money is spent on football and basketball and while those things are important because exercise is important we go to school to learn not to win trophies in regional contests.

I'm sorry that I have a couple typos and grammar mistakes, I thought I proofread it well enough but I guess I didn't. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm in Illinois. My public school education in the latter 60's, Middle and High School, was equivalent to a college education today, in my opinion, perhaps better. But even then the curriculum was influenced by the globalist agenda. I remember the Weekly Reader, which always included articles about the United Nations, and international relations.

Teachers then were still free to actually teach a subject, using their individual talents. I had a few extraordinary teachers, and a few horrible ones. One of my English Lit teachers was able to use the Bible, as literature, to teach prose and poetry. Another social studies teacher actually taught students how to think critically when reading newspaper articles; how to ask appropriate questions about what was written. He was familiar with the propaganda used by Germany in WWII.

Today Illinois public education has fallen victim to the marxist agenda, as it has in other states. The hope is giving control back to parents through "the money follows the student" laws, enabling true school choice for parents. And there is talk about doing away with the Federal Department of Education. I'm all for that.

A bunch of us 60+ year olds would be glad to teach in a private school environment. We don't need degrees to teach reading and math.
