Excellent episode. Your opening brought back memories. March 16 my pregnant daughter was admitted to Evergreen Hospital, the epicenter of US Covid, with pneumonia, and empyema. She was there for a week, across the hall from the Covid unit and her room overlooked the parking lot with the drive through testing tent. Not once did we see a car drive up. The nurses said the Covid unit was easy duty because it was almost empty. Very deadly indeed.
Great show! Great "history" lesson...I've been awake since Nixon and how they couped him!!! So when Trump came I knew that he would "finish the job"....What a ride... I hope/believe they're all gonna hang...Pure Evil...
Hey Chris, just listening to the bit about Robert de Niro and the thought just occurred to me that he was either a Producer/ Director (or maybe the funder of) an “anti-vax” movie which he got a lot of pressure to not screen at Tribecca (can’t remember when exactly that might have been).
Wild idea, but with what we know about RFK Jnr, and Trump’s anti-vax past, do you think there could be something there? Don’t want to use the word Kayfabe but could there be a tri-factor thing happening there? I’m reaching but it’s not entirely improbable.

Abstract ideas and motivations are not my forte to explain or discuss. Yet I have customers, friends, and family who earnestly want help making sense of Trump's reasoning, in a basic way. This episode is the most concise discussion of an exhaustive topic. Especially I can wrap my head around the idea that Trump broadsided the destruction that would have warranted Build Back Better; the global destruction that was derailed. We were the sleeping children, unaware of Trump and his vast team destroying our attackers, averting disaster, and now the story is being told, hence The Pause.
DeNiro is a Judas Goat. There’s no way that he has so little self-awareness that he would say “I wouldn’t play Trump in a movie. he’s too terrible of a person” (paraphrasing). Says the guy who played horrible bad guys for decades? Max Cady from Cape Fear was one of the most despicable characters ever.
DeNiro is keeping the noisy and insane Trump hate center stage on purpose, with an emphasis on the insane. Those who clap and cheerlead for DeNiro, like Bill Maher and his audience, are the rubes.
