Another top drawer commentary, Chris. I’m so pissed by our legislators that I feel like rolling my wheelchair over one or more of their feet. I might even organize a few of my friends to do a great American roll over. Can you picture a bunch of us pretending to be clumsy? Excuse me! Excuse me! Pardon me, I didn’t see your foot there. Bastards! Count it a success if you see a bunch of congressmen limping into legislative hall.
I just got a picture in my head that’s making me laugh. Can you imagine a bunch of old wheelchaired vets chasing congressmen through the hallways yelling “Yee haw! It’s high nooon!”
Absolutely agree... NO MORE FEDERAL TAXES. While we are at it eliminate 90% of all government and STOP Congress from passing ANY LAWS while repealing 90% of all current laws..
Re-reading Centesimus Annus for the first time in a while. This passage reminded me of what you always say about all the enemy ideologies boiling down to collectivism: "the fundamental error of socialism is anthropological in nature. Socialism considers the individual person simply as an element, a molecule within the social organism, so that the good of the individual is completely subordinated to the functioning of the socio-economic mechanism. Socialism likewise maintains that the good of the individual can be realized without reference to his free choice, to the unique and exclusive responsibility which he exercises in the face of good or evil. Man is thus reduced to a series of social relationships, and the concept of the person as the autonomous subject of moral decision disappears, the very subject whose decisions build the social order."
For all you ding-a-lings who thought Mike Johnson was going to be so great, here’s a big fat “I told you so.” Of course, I doubt there are/were any Mike Johnson fans listening to this podcast, but I still wanted to say it.
I feel so slimy even THINKING about paying federal income taxes anymore. It goes against my conscience. If I knew of an attorney who is well versed in constitutional law I could hire to represent me when the IRS Nazis came after me, I’d do it.
