Trump knew you were disappointed on Friday that there was no indictment so he had one sent especially for you last night! Hope you’re having a nice time with family!

Hi Chris, on DPH I mentioned Coeurdalene, Idaho. NO, it is not by Boise! We are in the pretty part up by the Canadian border. It’s beautiful here. Its commonly called the PNW (Pacific Northwest). Check it out! Love your podcasts. I wish BB would do audio readings of his writing.

good coverage Chris, did you see Gingrich?

“…we just need to understand, the people who want to control America and dictate to the rest of us will break any law, lie about any topic, and manipulate you any way they can,..”

That website erred a bit in their transcription. Newt actually said "...the people who want to control America...will manipulate THE SYSTEM any way they can...." He added that that includes a lot of the elite news media. Anyway, it got me thinking about "the system".... It clearly needs a complete overhaul to make it less manipulable by the corrupt, the tyrannical, or anyone who aims to violate the people's rights and the Constitution. America needs to be having public conversation about "the system." Not just the justice system, but that would be a start. How about banning the Lobby? Making Congressional representatives and senators actually live in their districts/states and not in DC? Perhaps getting rid of DC altogether? 🤔

When Trump says "indicated" did he misspell "indicted" with an extra 'a' or does he really mean "[v]indicated"? I guess we'll see!

Hey Chris - I'm watching last night's Story Hour and I just listened to the part where you spoke about people being polite online to strangers.

I have one counter argument, which isn't so much against anything you said, but is a perspective to consider.

Given my work over the past 15 years, I have made a firm decision to always choose who I want to be. This is not in response to any teaching or anyone else's morality or belief. I am the only one who can decide who I am and who I want to be...today...tomorrow...or any day forward, so I make that choice as consciously as possible.

I thus focus on choosing.

Now I will readily admit that there are tons of times...possibly every single week if not day, when my emotional reactions happen too quickly for me to use consciously choose. I don't judge those times because I also choose to not judge my humanity too harshly. But then I reaffirm my decision to focus on being who I want to be.

I love seeing people be as you are online. I love that there are those calling out the others within an absolute free speech perspective. I have NO judgement about that...and in fact, I cheer it on.

I just choose to not be that person because it just doesn't feel right on me...as me...as this person I am choosing to be.

I will make comments in jest that are not directed at specific others. I might make comments to specific others to at least let them know I think they are full of sh!t. Most of the time, I choose to not engage with the idiots.

So, while your summation that online politeness based on external social mores is a form of weakness could be completely correct, I feel that when one makes a choice solely or primarily from within themselves, that is NOT weakness. There are likely plenty of people who make the choice to be polite to idiots from that inner place.

P.S.

There are many people who deserve to be treated harshly. I totally defend Trump, for example. I have told people that Trump knows what these people have really done and thus treats them accordingly. I say that because I truly believe it...even though I don't have access to that information.

I just merely recognize that being like that just is not a fit for me. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with someone like you or Trump. I'll smile and laugh and shrug my shoulders, seeing others get what they asked for. But it's not too often I'll be the one to give it to them.
